Open by appointment rather than on the off chance. That is not standoffishness — it is that everybody is usually out on somebody's house, and a locked door after a drive over is worse than a phone call. Ring or message and somebody will be there.
We come to you as well. The site visit happens at your house, not at our unit, because your house is the thing that has to be looked at. The areas we cover lists where we work.
When we reply
One working day, every time. That includes the enquiries we cannot help with — a straight no on Tuesday is more use to you than silence until Friday.
Opening hours
- Monday to Friday, 7am to 10pm
- Ring the mobile first. If James is up a ladder it is answered for him in the company's name and a message reaches him the same day.
- Saturday, 8am to 9pm
- Site visits at the weekend are booked into Saturday mornings, but the phone is answered all day.
- Sunday, 9am to 6pm
- Answered as on any other day. Most people plan a build at the weekend, so we would rather you could reach us.
Nobody gets a voicemail. Whichever number you ring, a person answers in the company's name, and if it is not James you are talking to, what you said is written down and passed to him rather than left in a machine.
Saturday is a working day here, and it is deliberate. Most people can only get round a job at the weekend, so if Saturday morning is when you are free to walk us round the house, that is a normal appointment and not a favour.
Which route is quickest
- You have planning approval or architect's drawings. Email or WhatsApp them over. You get back a quotation broken into individually priced lines with the exclusions written down, plus a programme.
- You have an idea and no drawings. Ask for the site visit. James measures, looks at the actual constraint, and tells you whether it can be done and roughly what it costs.
- Something has gone wrong and you need somebody today. Ring the mobile. Do not use the form.
