The unit at Middleton Business Park

Plenty of builders publish an address. Not all of those addresses are a place you could drive to and find somebody in. This page exists so you can see ours before you decide whether to hand us your house.

Unit 27, Middleton Business Park, Yapton Road, Middleton-on-Sea, Bognor Regis, West Sussex PO22 6HS. It is a working unit with a showroom and an office at the front and a joinery workshop behind.

What it looks like when you pull up

The board on the end wall carries the compass mark and the number. The window graphics list what we do, which saves the conversation that starts with somebody wondering whether we take on their sort of job.

Inside

There is a desk, a seating area and a table big enough to spread drawings across. The screen on the wall is there so a set of plans can be looked at properly rather than squinted at on a phone.

The framed photographs are finished work from around West Sussex, the same jobs that appear in the photo gallery and on the project pages. Nothing on those walls came from a stock library.

The workshop behind it

The back of the building is a joinery shop. Wardrobes, staircases, doors and under-stairs storage are made here and then fitted, which is why the joinery matches the house it goes into rather than the nearest catalogue size. It also means a door that is wrong on site gets altered the same week, not reordered.

Come and see it, but ring first

The door says open by appointment only, and that is honest rather than unwelcoming. Most days everybody is out on somebody else's house. A locked door after a drive over is a worse experience than a phone call, so ring or message and somebody will be here when you arrive.

When somebody is here

Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm: Ring the mobile first. If James is on site it is answered for him and the message reaches him that day.
Saturday, 9am to 1pm: Half a day, and usually the half that suits people who work all week.
Sunday: Closed.

Whichever number you ring, a person picks up. Nobody is sent to an answering machine.

You do not have to come here at all

The site visit happens at your house, because your house is the thing that needs looking at. This unit is for the conversations that are easier around a table — going through a quotation, or looking at joinery drawings before anything is cut. The areas we cover sets out how far we travel.
